On June 17, 2005 North Country Candy & Gifts opened its' doors for the very first time. Inside, customers found 32 flavors of premium (Ashby's and Sleeping Bear) ice cream, a variety of hand dipped chocolates, specialty dressings and sauces, gourmet caramel corn, locally roasted coffees and a variety of Michigan themed gifts. Since that first day Susanne has added many varieties of chocolates, expanded the selection of sauces and dressings and developed a number of new ways to present caramel corn. There's even a "back room" for those looking for that special adult oriented chocolate treat for bachelor and bachelorette parties or that special someone.
North Country Candy & Gifts offers gift certificates as well as pre-made and custom gift boxes and chocolate trays and will ship anywhere in the United States and most of the rest of the world.
New this summer at North Country Candy and Gifts are fruit smoothies and ice cream cakes and pies. For those customers craving a sweet treat but who are unable to have ice cream due to lactose allergies, we now offer fruit smoothies. Smoothies are available in a variety of flavors including Strawberry, Mango Tropics and Pineapple Paradise. For you coffee lovers out there, we also offer frozen cappuccinos.
Since the store’s opening, many customers have asked for ice cream cakes. Susanne has enhanced her experience in cake decorating by training with one of the most proficient ice cream cake designers in Michigan. Cakes are made to order and require a minimum of five to seven days advance notice.
